EMBEDDED? >

  • An Embedded Fractional Designer is a highly experienced, senior-level design professional who integrates deeply with a company's team and leadership on a part-time, ongoing contract basis.
  • Instead of being a full-time employee or a purely external consultant, they function as a hybrid: an expert who brings strategic experience and hands-on execution, but only for the fraction of time the business actually needs.

THREE ROLES

  • Visual Strategist—Defines how and why design decisions are made, not just the "what." Aligns all visual communications (website, ads, presentations) with core business goals and marketing data.
  • Brand Ambassador—Acts as the internal guardian of the brand. Creates and reinforces brand standards across all departments to ensure every visual touchpoint—from an investor deck to a social media graphic—speaks with one cohesive voice. Builds trust and credibility with customers and stakeholders by eliminating confusing, off-brand inconsistencies.
  • Hands-on Executor—Unlike a pure consultant who only advises, the embedded designer is also responsible for getting the work done or setting up the team (in-house or external) for efficient execution. Bridges the common gap between high-level strategy and practical design delivery.

TWO KEY COMPONENTS

  • Fractional: You get high-level expertise without the full-time salary and overhead commitment. You pay for the expertise, not the 40 hours a week.
  • Embedded: To ensure design perfectly aligns with your business objectives, the designer is fully embedded within your core team. By attending vital strategy and leadership meetings and collaborating directly across departments (marketing, engineering, sales), they become fluent in your brand's DNA. This immersion is key to their ability to accurately translate your vision, mission, and goals, establishing them as an indispensable partner rather than an external service vendor.
